Hillary Clinton Without Makeup Pictures Go Viral, Secretary of State Laughs Off ?Au Naturale? Comments [PHOTOS]

What do Hillary Clinton, Snooki and AnnaLynne McCord have in common? If you think nothing, you're wrong; They all have pictures without makeup circulating the Internet.

Photos of the Secretary of State went viral on Monday when Clinton was travelling through Asia wearing her glasses and no makeup, sparking interest in a phenomenon known as Hillary Au Naturale.

After an interview in Dhaka, Bangladesh promoting democracy worldwide, Clinton was snapped in photos wearing thick black glasses and just lipstick. The image of Secretary Clinton appeared on the Drudge Report as Hillary Au Naturale.

However, Clinton is laughing off the buzz about her natural look without makeup, despite comments from pundits at Fox News who called her tired and withdrawn, since the photos went viral.

I feel so relieved to be at the stage I'm at in my life right now, Clinton told CNN. Because you know if I want to wear my glasses I'm wearing my glasses. If I want to wear my hair back I'm pulling my hair back. You know at some point it's just not something that deserves a lot of time and attention. And if others want to worry about it, I let them do the worrying for a change.

This isn't the first time photos of Hillary went viral. Last month, a now defunct Tumblr account called Texts from Hillary hit the web, with a compilation of photos of Secretary Clinton texting on her BlackBerry, sparking meme creation. After a submission from Clinton herself, the creators of the blog decided to quit updating it.

Later in the month, more photos of Clinton became internet sensations, as she was snapped drinking a beer and partying away at a club in Cartegena.

It appears the popularity crest for Hillary Clinton is on a steep incline, not because of her diplomacy, but for her personal style. The au naturale photo is just the most recent example of the Clinton fashion debate that began when she was First Lady that continued through the 2008 election, where the subject of discussion was her short hair and myriad of pant suits. In the May issue of Elle magazine, reporter Rachel Combe follows Clinton around during an appearance in New York, channeling that debate by opening with a conversation about her shoes.

Those are cute, Clinton told Combe of her bright orange satin shoes.

However, the piece takes a turn from fashion to policy, as Combe profiles Clinton's rise to power in politics while balancing work and family life.

These days Hillary Clinton seems to get standing ovations whenever she opens her mouth, Combe wrote. Clinton is enjoying almost unprecedented popularity in the United States.

Being a fashion magazine, the profile also pressed Hillary for her scrunchie-wearing habit, which her officials are trying to dissuade her from doing, after those photos, of course, went viral as well.

As a State Department official told me, Combe wrote, 'As a chick, it's a big pain in the butt. The weather is different, and you're in and out of the plane. [The staff] gets off that plane looking like garbage most days, but she has to look camera ready. She said the reason she grew her hair long was that it's easier. She has options.' The official added, because, it seems, no American alive can resist critiquing Clinton's hair: 'But some of us are looking to ban the scrunchies.'
